One of the men told deputies that he saw the woman fall from a kayak or paddleboard.

He said he jumped in the water when he realized that she wasn’t swimming and pulled her to shore.

The other Good Samaritan then rushed over to help him.

Linhardt said the woman was taken to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities believe the woman drowned, but an autopsy is expected to be performed to confirm the cause of death.

Foul play is not believed to have been a factor.

The woman’s identity has not yet been released as authorities work to notify her next of kin.
