Florida health officials confirmed 3,374 new COVID-19 cases Monday and 69 more resident deaths as a result of the virus.
The state has now verified 2,047,379 COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began and 33,247 resident deaths, according to the latest health department data.
Another 644 non-residents have died in Florida from COVID-19.
Coronavirus-related deaths reported in the past day include one in Miami-Dade County, five in Broward County and nine in Palm Beach County.
There have been 84,707 resident hospitalizations attributed to the novel coronavirus in the state.
The latest CDC numbers show that Florida’s confirmed COVID-19 variant cases have doubled since last week. Now more than 2,300 cases of variants have been verified in the state, by far the most in the country. That includes 2,274 cases of the U.K. variant, 42 of the Brazilian variant and 14 cases of the variant initially identified in South Africa.

At least 5,679,601 people have received vaccines in Florida, with 3,141,836 people in the state fully vaccinated.
Miami-Dade has had 716,399 people receive shots, Broward has had 495,973, Monroe 22,096 and Palm Beach County 419,324, according to the latest numbers posted by the state.
The statewide positivity rate for yesterday’s testing was 7.58%, the highest in over two weeks.
