Police: 12-year-old boy abducted, sexually assaulted, and shot before man forces him out of car in NW Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are searching for the person they say sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy before shooting him.

Police said the boy was walking around 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. Saturday in the Brownsville neighborhood of Northwest Miami-Dade County.

That’s when authorities said a man pulled up, forced the boy into a vehicle, sexually assaulted him, shot him and then forced him out of the vehicle.

Local 10 News talked to a man who only identified himself as Johnny who said he was on his bike when he heard the boy screaming for help.

“He was screaming, ‘Help someone, help me, please.’ "

In surveillance video, Johnny, who said he didn’t have a phone, escorts the bleeding boy to the Foodland Market at Northwest 47th Street and 37th Avenue.

“I bring him to the store so they can call the police for him,” Johnny said. “He was conscience, then he fell on the sidewalk and said he had been shot.”

Surveillance video shows the boy walking up to the corner of Northwest 32nd Avenue and Northwest 47th Street where he can be seen collapsing, bleeding from the head, while a person standing next to him calls 911.

Another bystander later brought the boy a towel and a bottle of water while they waited for law enforcement to arrive.

Eventually Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived and police escorted the boy to a gurney. He can be seen clutching his head in pain in the video.

Rescue workers rushed him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where at last check, he was in critical condition.

Police describe the suspect as a tall Hispanic man with long curly hair, between the age of 30 and 40 years old.

He was driving a black sedan and was last seen in the area of Northwest 45th Street and 31st Avenue — the area where authorities said the boy was sexually assaulted and shot.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477.
