MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man and a woman living in Miami Beach have been detained following an argument that escalated inside of their apartment unit.
According to Miami Beach Police, at around 10:12 a.m., officers received a 911 call of a dispute involving a firearm along the corner of Drexel Avenue and 16th street in Miami Beach.
Miami Beach Police say the dispute escalated between the couple and a firearm was displayed.
Once officers arrived on the scene, they determined there was a dispute involving two separate apartment occupants. At around noon, a crime scene unit was also at the scene of the alleged dispute.
The man and woman were detained soon after officials arrived at the scene and a firearm has since been seized.
According to nearby residents, this arrest comes during a string of unrest and violence, as March has attracted many tourists and visitors, as well as spring breakers.
Just this past weekend, nearly 150 arrests were reported in Miami Beach between Friday and Saturday, with guns, drugs, and cash confiscated.
Furthermore, just Monday night, police responded to the scene of a fatal shooting in Miami Beach.
