Man hit by Lamborghini a ‘gentle giant’ who was working security

Abraham Valdez suffered serious injuries after being run over by SUV early Saturday

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man working security at a lounge has been identified as the pedestrian seriously injured after being run over by a silver Lamborghini SUV in Miami-Dade County early Saturday morning.

Abraham Valdez reportedly suffered internal bleeding, a crushed pelvis and broken ribs. He’s been in and out of surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Police say it started outside the Arena Grill and Lounge on NW 119th Street in North Miami, where Valdez was working security. Investigators say there was some sort of argument that spilled into the street outside.

The driver of the Lamborghini hopped behind the wheel and took off, hitting Valdez and sending other people running.

Graphic and disturbing surveillance footage obtained by Local 10 News showed the Lamborghini SUV driving right over Valdez before taking off down the street.

Seconds later, a cell phone recorded the tense moments as police — with guns drawn — pulled two people from that SUV near NW 27th Avenue and 119th Street.

The Lamborghini had crashed into another car before the takedown.

Police say the Lamborghini driver remains in the hospital as well, and it remains to be seen what charges the two people who were pulled from the SUV might face.

Friends say Valdez is a “gentle giant” who would “give you the shirt off his back.”

A GoFundMe page has already raised more than $18,000 to help in his recovery
