Naked man shot outside apartment complex in Pembroke Pines

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Pembroke Pines police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday morning in the 6800 block of Pembroke Road.

According to authorities, someone called 911 just after 8:45 a.m. to report that a naked man was walking in the 7200 block of Pembroke Road.

Police responded to the area to search for the man as more calls came in to 911 regarding a gunshot heard at a nearby apartment building at 6840 Pembroke Road.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene to find an injured, naked man outside of the complex, suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition.

Police said a final 911 call came in from a man who identified himself as the shooter.

Police said he came out of one of the units and was detained for questioning. It’s unclear whether he lives at the apartment complex or whether he will face charges.

Police said the gunman is being cooperative with officers.

Pembroke Road was shut down in both directions after the shooting.
