WASHINGTON – Betsy DeVos resigned from her post as U.S. Education Secretary on Thursday.
DeVos submitted her letter of resignation to President Donald Trump in response to the mob takeover of Capitol Hill on Wednesday.

“There is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, and it is the inflection point for me,” DeVos wrote in the letter.
Elaine Chao also resigned from her post as U.S. Transportation Secretary on Thursday. She and her husband, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, both condemned the insurrection.
