MIRAMAR, Fla. – Detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting that left a man wounded Tuesday afternoon in Miramar.
Surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News shows a white car pull up to a corner in the 7500 block of Pembroke Road just before 3 p.m. A male in the passenger seat can be seen opening the door slightly, before leaning out the window and opening fire.
According to Tania Rues, a spokeswoman for the Miramar Police Department, one person ran into a nearby convenience store to ask for help. Witnesses said another man outside was struck by a bullet.
Police say the man shot was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood with non-life-threatening injuries.
Bullets pierced several cars in the parking lot.
Several witnesses told Local 10 that they heard at least eight shots.
One witness, who did not want to be identified by name, said he was inside the convenience store when the shots were fired.
“I was lucky I was inside the store,” he said.
Video shows the white car fleeing southbound on DeSoto Drive.
No arrests have been made.
