Baby may be with father, identified as Ernesto Caballeiro, police say

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – An Amber Alert has been issued for a father and baby who have been missing since three women were found dead in southwest Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade police said the victims were found shot to death Tuesday inside a home on Southwest 187th Avenue.

Detective Lee Cowart said a family member discovered the bodies while checking on them after multiple attempts to contact them failed.

A newborn boy, believed to be 7 days old is missing, as is his 49-year-old father, whom police identified as Ernesto Caballeiro.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued an Amber Alert for the baby, Andrew Caballeiro, who may be in the company of his father.

“Ernesto Caballero, he’s related to the one or all three of the victims,” Cowart said.

Miami-Dade County property records show Caballeiro has owned the four-bedroom home at 21981 SW 187th Ave. since 2005.

Police believe Caballeiro and the baby may be traveling in a white Ford passenger van with Florida tag KUSK23.

“We’re asking the assistance of the community to locate him and his newborn infant child,” Cowart said.

Anyone with information about Caballeiro’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately and not approach him.
