MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A teacher at Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School resigned Tuesday after allegations she had an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokeswoman Jackie Calzadilla told Local 10 News the language arts teacher had been with the district for five years and didn’t have any prior incidents.
The Miami-Dade Schools Police Department is investigating.
“Miami-Dade County Public Schools condemns any behavior that does not align with the core values of our school community," district spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez-Diego said in a statement. "Upon learning of this serious allegation, the district immediately reassigned the employee and Miami-Dade schools police launched an investigation. Although the individual has since resigned and will be prevented from seeking future employment with this school system, schools police will continue their investigation.”
No arrests have been made.
