WASHINGTON – The National Park Service says someone defaced the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC with graffiti on Tuesday.
Officials say the monument was tagged with the words "F*** Law" with red graffiti around 4:30 a.m.
Crews began attempting to remove the graffiti later this morning with a "gel-type architectural paint stripper."
However, a tweet from a reporter in the nation's capital showed that remnants of the graffiti remained this afternoon.
