Police officers warned Friday that they will be looking for drunk drivers this weekend on Eighth Street, also known as Tamiami Trail, in Southwest Miami-Dade.
Miami-Dade County Detective Marjorie Eloi said the special patrol bureau will be stopping drivers from 9 p.m., Saturday, to 5 a.m., Sunday.

The "impaired drivers enforcement initiative" will be in the areas of Westchester, Sweetwater and Tamiami between Southwest 72nd and 127th Avenue, according to Eloi.
The checkpoints are part of The Florida Department of Transportation's grant initiative.
