Kayaker airlifted to hospital after alligator attack in Florida canal

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Nearly two dozen kayakers were out on the water in an Osceola County canal when a woman was bitten by an alligator.

Florida Fish and Wildlife and Polk County Sheriff’s officers arrived at the scene on Monday afternoon and found one woman who was suffering from an alligator bite on her elbow.

The woman was airlifted to Osceola Regional Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.

FWC said a contracted alligator trapper later removed and relocated the alligator.
