Caught on Camera: Police chase on Florida roadway ends in gunfire

TAMPA, Fla. – There’s a growing investigation in Tampa, after officers shot and killed a driver who they said intentionally ran over three people.

Tampa police said it started when Jeremiah Bailey, 48, got into an argument with a man at a Dollar General on Sunday night.

Officers said Bailey followed the other man and ran him over. Moments later, police said Bailey ran over two other random pedestrians.

One of them died.

Officers spotted Bailey’s car, chased him and performed a PIT maneuver to get him to stop.

Police said they ordered Bailey to get out of his car.

They said he appeared to be reaching for something, and officers fired their weapons.

Bailey died at the scene.

No firearms were found at the scene, but officers are searching where Bailey had traveled.
