Florida man faces voyeurism charges for allegedly placing camera beneath women’s skirts at Publix

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida man is facing video voyeurism charges for allegedly placing a phone in a shopping basket under a woman’s dress at a grocery store.

According to Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies, Thomas Ali Burns, 45, video surveillance captured the moments when Burns placed his cellphone inside a shopping basket at a Publix on July 21 in Gainesville, and approached several females from behind, and placed the basket directly underneath their skirts for a few seconds.

Deputies later issued a search warrant being executed and developing probable cause for arrest.

Deputies believe Burns targeted several stores and retail chain stores committing the same act of video voyeurism the past two years.

Burns is behind bars at the Alachua County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
