LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla – “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” inspired by the beloved movie “The Princess and the Frog” will officially open to all guests on Friday.
The Walt Disney World Resort gave a first look inside the revamped attraction at the Magic Kingdom Park earlier this month.

The attraction, formerly known as Splash Mountain, was transformed into a Mardi Gras celebration by Disney Imagineers and named after Disney’s first Black princess, Tiana.
“The significance of bringing Princess Tiana, an American princess, an African American princess to the parks is really, really quite tremendous. And to think that I’ve had a part of that, and our team has had a part of that is really special,” said Charita Carter, Executive Creative Producer of Walt Disney Imagineering.
The Splash Mountain attraction was originally based on the controversial Disney film, “Song of the South,” which critics say portrays racial stereotypes.
The change gives Princess Tiana a permanent new home at Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort and also at Disneyland Park in California.
The ride features dozens of audio-animatronics, new music and the famous 50-foot drop.
The popular attraction officially closed in Jan. 2023 for refurbishments.
