Florida woman arrested for allegedly trying to sell her toddler

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida woman is facing child abuse charges after police said she tried to sell her 18-month-old for $500.

According to Palatka police, Jessica Woods, 33, was loitering around a business with her daughter when an anonymous citizen said Woods offered to sell her daughter to them for $500.

Officers said the citizen took the child to the police department.

The child has since been placed in foster care.

Woods was later arrested and faces several charges including child neglect and cruelty toward a child.

She was taken to the Putnam County jail where she is being held without bond.
