CLEARWATER, Fla. – Florida police responded to a freak accident that left one car mangled.
Clearwater Police said they arrived at the scene on Saturday evening north of Drew Street and found a vehicle with a smashed windshield.

Officers said the tire of a car driving southbound came off and slammed into the windshield of the northbound car.
Officers spoke to a woman and her school- aged daughter who were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The child was sitting in the back seat and was not injured, and no one was sitting in the front passenger seat, which officers said sustained much of the damage from the tire.
