PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – A Florida veteran got an early Christmas present when he was reunited with his service dog, who went missing for more than a month.
According to a post on social media by the Port St. Lucie Police Department, Nikki the Belgian Malinois service dog was missing since last month but was spotted near a wooded area last week.

Animal Control responded and contacted Trapper Jay with Treasure Coast Wildlife Trappers who set a trap in the area.
Nikki took the bait, was recovered in good health and was reunited with her owner.
