Deputies said that Taylor’s son was taking part in one-on-one tackling practice with another player, when Taylor’s son was overpowered and started crying.

That’s when witnesses said Taylor ran out on the field, put a helmet on his head, got into a football stance and then charged the victim, intentionally hitting the boy in the chest with the helmet.

Deputies said Taylor then grabbed the victim by the arms and pushed him to the ground.

Witnesses said the boy was crying, but was not seriously hurt and did not require medical attention.

Deputies said Taylor then yelled, cursed and approached the coaching staff in an aggressive manner before he was finally stopped.

Taylor was arrested and booked into the Escambia County jail.

He was charged with aggravated child abuse and disorderly conduct, and has since bonded out of jail.
