Kraft has made a formal request to sit on Coral Springs' Holiday Parade Committee. Her husband, attorney Mitch Kraft, who awaits trial along with his wife, is also seeking an appointment in the city. Stephanie Kraft touted her experience riding in parades as an elected official in her written application to the city:

"I love a parade! I have been attending the Holiday Parade since it was the Our Town Parade. How many people know that Coral Springs used to have a parade for Our Town, until one year when Our Town was rained out (it used to be in the fall) and the Holiday Parade was born?"I have attended the parades my whole life. I have in parades as a Brownie, a flag twirler, and as a board member. I rode in the Holiday parade for years. I have also been in the Veteran's Day parade in Tamarac."I love marching bands! I was proud to have supported Taravella's band when they went to the inauguration. I would love to help plan the Holiday Parade. It is one of my favorite parades. As a long-time resident of Coral Springs and as a viewer and participant in the Holiday Parade, I think I can be very helpful on the Holiday Parade Committee."

Mitch Kraft specified only that he would like to be appointed to a "customer-related government committee," writing, "I would like to be of service to the city."

Included in the paperwork being submitted to the city commission are FDLE documents showing that the pair are facing felony corruption charges related to criminally convicted developers Bruce and Shawn Chait. While sitting on the school board, Stephanie Kraft, school board records show she used her influence to help the Chaits get a $500,000 break on mitigation fees they owed taxpayers for a golf course development in Tamarac. At the same time, the Chaits paid Mitch Kraft $10,000, a fact Stephanie Kraft didn't disclose to the public and what prosecutors allege amounted to a bribe. Both have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The city commission is expected to make their appointments during tomorrow's meeting.
