MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A car being chased by police crashed into a bus after officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle.

Police said officers attempted to make a felony traffic stop on a vehicle at Fifth Street and Ocean Drive after a license plate reader indicated the vehicle had been stolen.

During the stop, the driver fled north on Ocean Drive, leading police on a chase. During the pursuit, the vehicle struck a bus at Seventh Street and Washington Avenue. A third vehicle was also involved in the crash.

Police said the driver got out of the vehicle and ran, but was caught at Eighth Street and Washington Avenue.

Two women involved in the crash were taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other details were immediately released.
