MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The son of former Miami Heat guard Glen Rice was arrested early Tuesday on a battery charge after he punched a doorman in the face at a Miami Gardens strip club, authorities said.
According to an arrest report, Glen Rice Jr., 26, was seen by a police officer who was working off-duty outside Tootsie's Cabaret on Northwest 183 Street near Miami Gardens Drive running out of the club with bouncers behind him.

The doorman told the officer that Rice had been complaining about the service inside the strip club and he asked Rice if he wanted to speak with the manager.
The doorman said Rice said, "No," and then punched him twice in the face.
Police said Rice claimed that he struck the victim because the doorman said something "out of the way" to his sister.
The doorman provided a written statement claiming that he was respectful to Rice's sister, the report said.
Rice was arrested on a battery charge and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Rice played basketball at Georgia Tech before he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers. He was waived by the Washington Wizards in 2015 after playing in 16 games over two seasons.
Rice Sr. played for the Heat from 1989 to 1995.
