POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A Pompano Beach man was arrested Monday on multiple child pornography charges following a months-long investigation by the Broward Sheriff's Office.

According to an arrest report, detectives began investigating Kevin Macek, 41, in May after they were notified by an internet service provider that Macek was sharing child pornography images through an instant messaging service.

Detectives said Macek engaged in hundreds of chat messages with at least 185 other users.

The images showed explicit images of children from ages 3 to 14, the arrest report said.

Detectives said Macek also discussed the sexual abuse of a 3-year-old during chat sessions with a man, identified only as "David."

A warrant was served Monday at Macek's home on North Riverside Drive and authorities found images of child pornography on his computer and cellphone, the report said.

Detectives said Macek confessed to searching the internet for child pornography and speaking with David and encouraging him to take photos and perform sexual acts on the toddler.

Authorities said David molested the toddler live on a webcam for Macek's pleasure and showed the toddler explicit photos of Macek.

Authorities said David and his wife were arrested on June 27. It's unclear whether they are from South Florida.
