BAL HARBOUR, Fla. – Bal Harbour police Chief Mark Overton died Thursday, months after suffering a massive heart attack.
Overton, who was a fitness fiend and a health nut who rarely got sick, collapsed on the Fourth of July in front of his wife after they worked out together.

Doctors found major blockage in three of his arteries. Overton never regained consciousness after the heart attack.
Local 10 News reporter Erica Rakow was told that Overton's feeding tube was removed earlier this week and that his organs were slowly shutting down.
He is survived by his wife and their two children.
