MIAMI – The chief of the Miami-Dade Public Schools Police Department has been demoted after he was suspended amid allegations he sexually harassed female officers.
Charles Hurley, who was suspended in May, is now a director of the district's Region 3 office. He is also doing community outreach, according to district spokesman John Schuster.

Two weeks ago, two women filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Hurley, accusing him of harassing them and punishing them when they rejected his advances.
Schuster declined to comment on why Hurley was demoted.
