Reward increased after mother, daughter’s murder remains unsolved 7 years later

$10,000 reward offered for information that leads to arrest

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Authorities asked for the public’s help Tuesday in finding the person who killed a mother and her 15-year-old daughter in North Lauderdale over seven years ago.

Police said Jada Allen and her mother, Temoco Williams, 48, were found in their home on Jan. 28, 2017, suffering from gunshot wounds, after someone called 911.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene and her mother was taken to Broward Health North, where she died.

BSO detectives and family members said they believe the killer likely knew Williams and Allen and knew the layout of the family’s home.

“There was no sign of forced entry, and two other children inside the home at the time of the murders were unharmed,” Investigators said.

“This was a very cold-blooded crime,” said BSO Cold Case Detective Zack Scott. “This was not a robbery, at least, it didn’t have any of the characteristics that would make you think it was. They were asleep in their bed and someone chose to go into someone else’s home, knowing these people were there, kill two of those people, and then leave.”

Family members told reporters the day after the incident that Williams’ surviving children have the right to know who killed their mother.

“Nobody deserves what my sister and my niece got. And, you know, yeah, some people are in the wrong place at the wrong time. But they were in their home. They were asleep,” said Temeco WIlliams’ sister Nicole said in a news release. “Who could hurt you at that time in that place? So why would you want to go into their home and violate them and violate our family?”

Neighbors said the family had moved in only a few months before the incident. Jada was a student at Blanche Ely High School.

Authorities have not publicly identified any possible suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives at 954-321-4214 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
