Police arrested the driver of that car, Belkis Salgado, on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Gonzalez was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital to be treated for a head injury. He could be seen with a bandage on his head.

According to an arrest affidavit, Salgado had bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol and had trouble balancing. Police said officers were unable to finish a roadside sobriety test because of her combative behavior, and she refused to submit to a breath test.

Salgado was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The 33-year-old faces charges of DUI and DUI causing serious bodily injury.
