MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was shot and killed by his wife early Sunday at their home in southwest Miami-Dade County, authorities said.
Detective Argemis Colome, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, said the shooting happened about 7:30 a.m. inside the Oasis gated community near Southwest 47th Street and Southwest 67th Avenue.
Colome said the woman was not arrested and that officials have not yet made a decision to file charges in the case.
Miami-Dade police released few details about the shooting, but said the shooting occurred after a verbal argument escalated to a physical altercation.
The shooting shocked neighbors who said the couple kept to themselves and didn't cause any problems.
"It's hard to believe," neighbor Lindsay Shirftman said.
The woman was identified Monday as Amy Martinez, 31. Her husband was identified by police as Osmanny Montano, 34.
