'Non-credible' threats cause temporary lockdown at Coral Springs school, police say

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A verbal threat and a threat made on social media prompted a temporary Code Red lockdown Friday morning at Sawgrass Springs Middle School, Broward County Public Schools officials confirmed.

According to Coral Springs police, the threats were determined to be non-credible.

The lockdown has since been lifted. 

Some parents whose children attend the middle school told Local 10 News their children were told that an eighth grader had been arrested, however school officials said no arrests were made at the school Friday. 

No other details about the threats were immediately released.
