Miami police Officer Kenia Fallat said the body appeared to have been in the water for awhile, but there were no signs of obvious trauma.

Firefighters removed the body from the water and brought it ashore to Curtis Park's boat ramp.

The identity of the man, believed to be in his 20s, was not immediately known.

Authorities said the case is being categorized as an "unclassified death" until the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office deems otherwise.
