PALMETTO BAY, Fla. – Several Palmetto Bay schools were placed under lockdown Friday due to a heavy police presence in the area.
The lockdown was lifted about 90 minutes later.

Miami-Dade police tweeted they were looking for a subject in the vicinity and schools are being locked down as a precaution. No additional information was given regarding the details of the search.
A perimeter was set up between Southwest 144th Street and 152nd Street to the north and south, and 67th Avenue to Old Cutler Road to the east and west.
Schools listed in the area are Alexander Montessori School and Westminster Christian Academy.
