MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Four men are facing murder charges in the death of a 33-year-old nuclear engineer who worked at Turkey Point, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.
After an argument at a house party at 15711 SW 147 St., Alexander Restrepo was on his way out when someone stabbed him several times, according to Detective Jennifer Capote. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue found him bleeding in the front yard lawn Oct. 21.
"He saved my life, because he was fighting off, I don't know how many guys, for me to be able to get away," said Restrepo's brother Christopher Restrepo, who was also wounded during the attack.
Police officers arrested Edwin Rios, 24, Alejandro Esteban Tapia, 22, Sebastian David Zorrilla, 20, and Andres Felipe Feo, 24. The four men were facing second-degree murder with a deadly weapon and second-degree attempted murder charges.
Restrepo died at Jackson Memorial Hospital South. He was a graduate of the University of Florida and was an employee at Turkey Point's nuclear generating station.
"He did not deserve to die that way," Restrepo's grieving mom, Amparo Restrepo, said.
