Vigil to be held for woman found shot to death inside car

Grace Fraizer, 22, killed Friday; another woman injured in shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Loved ones are holding a vigil Wednesday night for a woman who was fatally shot Friday inside a car in southwest Miami-Dade.

Grace Frazier, 22, was the proud mother of a 4-month-old baby boy and was close with her family and friends.

"That's the hardest part, that she's no longer here with us," one of Frazier's relatives, Nichelle Thomas, said.

For the family, the heartache is great.

They said not a day would pass where Frazier and her loved ones wouldn't talk, text or spend part of the day together.

"Losing her, being with her, speaking with her, Facetiming her, laugh with her and joke with her, go out -- we're just going to miss that," Thomas said.

Police said Frazier was found shot inside a car that crashed into a tree along Southwest 218th Street and 120th Avenue in southwest Miami-Dade.

Another woman, Brittany Clay, 20, was also shot, but survived.

"It is unknown what happened, whether it was drive-by from one vehicle, whether the vehicle happened to drive by and somebody shot at them from a residence, or from a nearby block," Miami-Dade police spokeswoman Jennifer Capote said.

With few details about what happened, the family is holding a vigil at the site of the shooting in hopes that someone will come forward with information.

The vigil is being held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at 12045 SW 218th St.

"She was a young mother," Thomas said. "She did nothing to no one. It’s a tragedy, and if you saw something, say something. Help us out, help the family out. Help her son, so that he knows justice was served for his mother."

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
