FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police are searching for a group of males captured on surveillance video who they said were involved in a shooting last month outside a corner store.

The shooting was reported at 9:40 p.m. June 2 in the 1700 block of Northwest Sixth Place.

Police said a park ranger who was in the process of closing a nearby city park heard gunshots and found the victim lying in the grass with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.

Police said the victim was approached by a group of males outside of the Too Quick corner store at 627 NW 17th Ave. and was shot by one of the males.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

His current condition is unknown.

Fort Lauderdale police said they are interested in identifying the individuals involved in the shooting as well as anyone who might have witnessed the shooting.
