Thieves break open ATM at Miami Kwik Stop store

Crooks get away with at least $14,000 in cash, clerk says

MIAMI – Police are searching for at least two men who broke open an ATM overnight at a Miami convenience store.

The burglary was reported early Tuesday at a Kwik Stop at 6101 NE Fourth Court.

A store clerk told Local 10 News reporter Carlos Suarez that the men broke open the ATM and took at least $14,000 in cash.

He said the thieves got into the business through the roof.

A customer told Suarez that the store is a family-owned business and has been targeted by burglars in the past.

"People gotta pay for this stuff, and they all want to do is go around stealing," customer Marie Joy said. "I hope they catch them."

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
