Second Delray Beach police officer released from hospital after motor scooter crash

Officer Bernenda Marc recovering at home

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – A second Delray Beach police officer who was injured in a motor scooter crash in Key West has been released from a Miami-Dade County hospital, the Delray Beach Police Department said.

Officer Bernenda Marc, 25, was released and is recovering at home in Palm Beach County, Delray Beach police spokeswoman Dani Moschella said.

Marc and Officer Christine Braswell, 40, were on vacation together and riding a motor scooter April 8 when they were struck by another vehicle, Key West police spokeswoman Alyson Crean said.

Marc had been in critical but stable condition at Jackson South Community Hospital.

Braswell died at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Her body received a police escort as it was moved last week from the Miami-Dade County medical examiner's office to a Lake Worth funeral home.

Moschella said Marc hopes to attend Braswell's April 23 funeral service.
