DANIA BEACH, Fla. – A Dania Beach man was arrested Monday after he raped a woman who became pregnant and had an abortion, authorities said.
Clifford Allen Jr., 54, is accused of raping a woman when he drove her home last January.

According to a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest report, Allen stopped to drink some Hennessey cognac with the woman and then forced himself on her before taking her home.
The woman said she didn't initially report the incident because she was drunk and "felt ashamed and guilty." She later became pregnant and had an abortion.
DNA testing revealed that Allen was the father, Deputy Bruce Link wrote in the report.
Allen "was contacted and given the opportunity to tell his side of the story, but he opted to remain silent" and hired an attorney, the report said.
