FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – When a South Florida woman saw a mom and her daughter walking away from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, she decided to give them a ride.
She drove them to meet a relative who was on their way to pick them up. They were getting away from the airport after a shooting -- killing 5, wounding 6 and injuring dozens in the aftermath mayhem -- on Friday afternoon.

The girl left her black Jansport bag with her Christmas presents inside. But the Good Samaritan only knew that the girl's name was Gabby, she had traveled from South Carolina and lived in Lauderhill.
With the help of Local 10 News' Facebook followers, the girl will be able to get her bag back on Sunday.
The girl and her mom were not alone in their ordeal, as thousands of travelers running for their lives left their belongings behind.
Airport director Mark Gale said the airport's staff was cataloging some 20,000 items travelers left behind at the airport. Among them were cell phones and purses. Gale said travelers looking for items they left behind at the airport need to call 1-866-435-9355.
