PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A 22-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday morning after a witness saw a 16-month-old child fall from the woman's car, police said.
The incident was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Southwest Second Street and 178th Avenue in Pembroke Pines.

Police said Tina Johnson was behind the wheel of a 2015 Nissan Altima that was turning right when the left rear passenger door opened, causing an unrestrained 16-month-old to fall from the vehicle.
Police said the witness saw Johnson stop the car, put the toddler back inside the vehicle and drive away.
Johnson eventually sought treatment at a CVS store at 1698 S. Palm Ave., where she was taken into custody by Pembroke Pines police.
Police said the toddler was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Johnson was arrested on a child neglect charge.
Pembroke Pines police said its Community Affairs Unit offers appointments to fit and install car seats, and also offers resources to furnish a child restraint device to any parent or caretaker in need.
