Man shot, killed outside Miramar home

Police say shooter stole victim's Lexus

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A man was shot and killed early Wednesday morning outside his Miramar home, police said.

The shooting was reported about 3:40 a.m. outside 7151 Alhambra Blvd.

Miramar police said the shooter stole the victim's Lexus and ditched it a few blocks away.

Barry Bromfield told Local 10 News reporter Ben Kennedy that his son, Gavin Bromfield, 24, was the victim.

"Now my heart (is) tearing out. My wife just called me. She's at the hospital," Barry Bromfield said minutes before finding out that his son had died.

"He got shot somewhere in his mouth," Barry Bromfield said.

No arrests have been made and a motive is unknown.

Bromfield said he doesn't know why someone would want to kill his son.

"I wasn't at home," he said. "And when I come, I see the crime scene tape and I can't go no further."

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
