Miramar Police spokeswoman Tania Rues said the driver stopped north of Riviera Boulevard. The four suspects got out of the car and jumped into a canal near Utopia Drive.

After a swim, police caught up to them and they were arrested. Once at police headquarters, Louissant  provided a false identity, and he ran away when he was being questioned about it.

Rues said Louissant jumped from the third floor of the parking garage. And he fell onto the sidewalk. Miramar Fire Rescue took him to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was 27.
