"I'm tired of the situation," she said. "I don't have water. I don't have food. I don't have medicine."

The girl voices the frustrations of Venezuelans who are dealing with widespread shortages. Oil prices and a drought have worsened the crisis.

The policies of 17 years of Socialist rule are not to blame, Maduro has said. In numerous televised speeches, he has asked for patience as he fights an  "economic war" designed to topple his government.

But even his supporters are growing tired, as they lack basic goods such as tooth paste and soap. In the video, the little girl took off her hat to show her messy hair.

"And lastly, I don't have shampoo," she said.
