Harriet Tubman was an African-American abolitionist. She rescued approximately seventy enslaved families using the Underground Railroad. She died in 1913, at age 91.

The last woman on U.S. currency was Martha Washington, who was on the $1 Silver Certificate between 1891 and 1896.
