U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Barry Golden said Rutherford-Brown, who also goes by the name of Jackie Brown, was living with her husband at a lodge on the U.S. Navy base in Key West.

Rutherford-Brown is accused of fatally stabbing a person during an attempted robbery at a Chicago party in 2013.

Golden said Rutherford-Brown fled the Chicago area sometime after the stabbing, but U.S. marshals recently received information that she was living with her husband at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Key West.

U.S. marshals, Key West police, Monroe County Sheriff's Office detectives and Naval Criminal Investigative Service investigators entered a room Wednesday at the Navy Lodge on base and took Rutherford-Brown into custody without incident, Golden said.

Rutherford-Brown was booked into the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island. She is expected to be extradited back to Chicago in a few weeks.
