PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Ten people, believed to be Bahamian migrants, were rescued Saturday morning by the U.S. Coast Guard after their 30-foot vessel began taking on water just southwest of Freeport, Bahamas, the Coast Guard said.
The Royal Bahamas Defense Force requested the Coast Guard's assistance in the rescue. At the time, the vessel was reported to have been capsized.

The Coast Guard was able to find the vessel and rescue the 10 passengers, who were found clinging to the vessel, the Coast Guard said.
No injuries were reported.
Coast Guard Capt. Mark Fedor released a statement after the rescue that discourages "attempts to illegally enter the country by taking to the sea," calling the trips "incredibly dangerous."
