AVENTURA, Fla. – Two people were rescued from a sinking boat Saturday off Haulover Inlet.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Aventura police and the U.S. Coast Guard assisted in the rescue six miles east of Haulover Inlet.

A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue fireboat secured the boat and began towing it to shore, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman Erika Benitez said. The U.S. Coast Guard then took over and towed the boat the rest of the way.
The boaters were not injured.
Benitez said the effort was a great example of how multiple agencies can work as a team.
