MIAMI – A student has been taken to a hospital after falling from a building at Florida International University, a school spokeswoman said Wednesday.
FIU spokeswoman Dianne Fernandez said a student appeared to have fallen off the second story of the VH building at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus. He hit the pavement below.

The student was conscious when he was taken Wednesday evening to Kendall Regional Medical Center.
Fernandez said while he did not appear to be seriously injured, his condition is unknown.
