MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – An eighth-grade student was injured Monday after he jumped from a second-floor cat walk at Paul W. Bell Middle School, Miami-Dade Public Schools police said.

Police said the boy was "horsing around" as school was being dismissed at 11800 NW Second St. and jumped from the second floor to the ground below.

The boy was taken to Nicklaus Children's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

His identity was not immediately released.
