Woman in critical condition after 45-minute extrication

One person was killed and another person had to be extricated from this mangled car after it crashed into a tree Sunday night in Weston.

WESTON, Fla. – One person is dead and a woman was extricated from a car after a crash Sunday night in Weston.

Broward Sheriff's Office Department of Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said a car crashed into a tree at Bonaventure Boulevard and Racquet Club Road.

Jachles said it took about 45 minutes to remove the woman from the mangled car before she was flown to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition.

The identity of the person who was killed was not immediately released.
